One of our favorite hotel brands, The Ace, has just opened its newest outpost in Kyoto, Japan. Housed within the former Kyoto Central Telephone Company (built in the 1920s), it’s been given a modern overhaul by Commune Design, while still incorporating traditional Japanese design elements like paper lanterns and wood paneling. Speaking of Japanese design, an easy way to incorporate it into your space is through textiles, like this gray and blue pillow. It features a subtle pattern in soothing shades, and will warm up almost any interior.
We Love…Well Designed Details
This modern interpretation of a Georgian house in London features lots of unique details we’re certainly keeping in mind for future projects. Most notably the terrazzo checkerboard floor, arched doorways, and curved central stair case with green railing. Designed by Gundry + Drucker, it’s the perfect pairing of tradition with 21st Century life.

Earlier this week we brought you all the info on Sacramento green, the it color that’s popping up everywhere. Case in point- this LA bathroom, which used the color on the walls, vanity and shower tile. With brass and black accents, the room feels both rich and refreshing. We can’t wait to see more of this shade!
