A Designer’s Dream Home In San Francisco

Designer Nicole Hollis has transformed one of SF’s trademark Victorian homes into a showcase for her modern and thoughtful style  – as well as a comfortable family home. After painting the exterior black, she crafted an interior filed with rich materials and minimal furnishings. While most of the walls were painted white, a pop of green livens up the media room, and floor-to-ceiling teal tile makes for an unexpected surprise in the bathroom.

How You Can Help Support Wildfire Relief

While we often showcase beautiful and inspiring homes in California, in reality, the state is currently being ravaged by some of the worst wildfires in its history. It’s heartbreaking to think of the devastation these fires have caused – to both the natural environment and the communities. But there are ways we can help. Here is a list of organizations accepting donations.

  • Wildfire Relief Fund  – Supports both immediate disaster relief and long-term recovery efforts for those affected by California wildfires.
  • California Fire Foundation – Provides assistance to the victims, firefighters, and communities that are affected by natural disasters.
  • Go Fund Me California Wildfire Relief Fund – Supports grants to individuals, organizations, and communities that have either been impacted themselves or are dedicated to helping those affected by the California wildfires.
  • Red Cross Wildfire Relief – Supports sheltering families, delivering supplies and meals, and providing medical care.

A Hotel Going To New Heights

Dreaming of a tropical getaway? So are we. And while it might not be happening soon, we’re definitely dreaming bout this new hotel located on Grand Cayman Island in the Caribbean. Palm Heights, the first all-suite boutique hotel on the island, has got all the amenities you might expect (restaurant, spa, and gym) while also embracing a minimal palette and modern aesthetic. Rooms are a mix of relaxed, earthy, and eclectic, with rattan furniture, woven shades, and abstract art – a far cry from traditional beachy decor, while also feeling right at home next to the sea.
