Bobby’s Five Favorite…Ways To Make The Most Of The New Year

Every new year, many of us make resolutions with the intention of improving our lives. But besides lofty goals (like getting in better shape), there are plenty of small ways you can welcome 2021 while embracing every day – and we’re sharing five of our favorites.

Start 2021 with a fresh attitude (and happy home), whether it’s beginning each day with gratitude, embracing organization, or settling into self-care, and you’ll be on your way to a brighter future.

Start Each Day With Gratitude

Right after you’ve hopped out of bed (and even before you have your morning coffee) take a few seconds to think about what you’re grateful for in that moment. Even if it’s the most simple of statements, this will set a positive tone for the entire day, and keep things in perspective. You can also keep a daily gratitude journal that includes guided prompts, which will also allow you to reflect on an entire year of meaningful moments.

Embrace Organization

We’ve said it once and we’ll (continue) to say it again. Organization is a key component of a happier, healthier home. And there’s no time like a new year to start implementing easy ideas to clear away clutter. Consider starting in one room (a closet is always a good place) and working your way through your home at your own pace. Donate or discard things you no longer use and find a spot for everything else. Trust us, you and your home will reap the benefits.

 Get In Touch With Nature

Nature has a powerful way of elevating our mood, lifting our spirits, and calming our minds. Wherever you live, take time to get in touch with the outdoors. That could mean a walk in a park, taking a weekend hike, or even just a few moments each morning in your backyard (or looking out a window if it’s chilly). Especially in times of stress, seeking out nature can provide you with a serious moment of zen in a world that can feel overwhelming.

Begin A Self-Care Routine

Caring for yourself is anything but selfish. In fact, it’s a way to ensure you are operating at your best – and able to give more freely of your time and energy. So in 2021, incorporate a few simple self-care rituals, whether it’s taking time to improve your mental health or unwinding after a long day. One of the easiest ways to get started is adding an essential oil diffuser. You can customize the scent to get focused, relax, or even help clear congestion.

Invest In Good Rest

A night of sound sleep can mean better days – and a better you. So make this year the one that you get the best rest possible. Upgrading your pillows, sheets, and bed linens are always good ideas, but you can also take steps like cutting out electronics an hour before bed or listening to calming meditations at bedtime. Whatever your methods, place a priority on sleep and you’ll see benefits throughout your waking hours.

  1. I’ve been using a gratitude journal for a few months now and it has really made a difference in my day to day happiness. Thanks for highlighting this. Happy New Year Bobby!

  2. I love taking a late afternoon walk in the park, especially on a stressful day. My kids love it too. I also take a long, relaxing bath once a week and it does wonders.

  3. Great ideas Bobby. I’m planning to leave my cellphone outside the bedroom and really focusing on getting a good nights sleep in 2021. I bought new sheets and a duvet cover too.

  4. Great work Bobby. We all need this positivity right now. 👍🙏
