Interior Design Assistant//

Are you ready to jumpstart your career in interior design alongside a world-renowned designer? We are seeking a dedicated and talented Design Assistant to join our prestigious interior design firm, led by the one and only Bobby Berk of Queer Eye. If you have a passion for design, impeccable drafting skills, proficiency in Autocad and Indesign, and a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, we want to hear from you!

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, with minimum 2 years professional experience.
  • Strong drafting skills.
  • Proficiency in Autocad and Indesign.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a creative team.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a car, and insurance.
  • Located in Los Angeles, CA.
  • Willingness to travel across the US for project installs and able to lift up to 40lb.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Design Assistant at our firm, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with our lead designers and assist with various aspects of the design process, including:

  • Assisting with space planning and design concept development.
  • Material selection and sourcing.
  • Furniture design and selection.
  • Project administration and coordination.
  • File and library maintenance.
  • Design installation assistance.

 

Compensation: $55,000 starting salary

Training:

We provide comprehensive training, including our project management software, Houzz Pro. While familiarity with this platform is advantageous, it is not required. 

 

Design Test:

Applicants will be required to complete a design test, including space planning a room, creating a floor plan and elevations, and developing a full schematic scheme for the room to showcase your personal style.

 

Employment Details:

This is a full-time position, and candidates should be local to Los Angeles and be eligible to work in the US. At this time, we are not considering international applicants.
