On March 20, 2019, I began a new chapter in my career with the launch of bobbyberk.com. My goal was simple: to provide a source for design and lifestyle content that would inspire, educate and entertain. And while a lot has changed in the world (to say the least), the mission of this site remains the same. So in honor of our anniversary, I’m taking a stroll down memory lane, and highlighting some of the most defining – and proudest – moments from the past 3 years.
Over the course of 3 years, I’ve shared 13 new design projects, 29 Queer Eye makeovers, 650 posts, and thousands of products (which made picking the most defining moments quite a challenge!) But I’ve managed to narrow things down to the posts that really made me proud, and I hope also inspired you!
Keep scrolling to see the content that really stood out to me – and here’s to many more years of exciting projects, amazing makeovers, and easy ideas to make your home even better!
Project Reveals
Being able to share my design work with a wider audience has been such an exciting – and rewarding – part of this website. And when it came to all the projects we premiered in the last 3 years, there we just too many amazing spaces to pick just one. From a traditional eclectic home for my friends Frida and Cory to my parents’ dramatic home makeover to a neutral and natural design for the Sandalwood community, I’ve loved sharing all the details behind these projects (and don’t worry, there’s much more to come!)
Queer Eye Makeovers
Queer Eye certainly changed everything for me – and it’s been a big part of this website from the very beginning. Recapping 29 amazing before and afters from seasons 3, 4, 5, and 6, I hope you’ve enjoyed these inspiring heroes and inside looks at how the designs really come together as much as I have.
Design Advice & DIY Tips
After 18 years of working in the design world, I’ve definitely learned a thing or two. And being able to pass my knowledge onto our readers (including what not to do) is one of the most rewarding parts of having this platform. In 3 years, we’ve covered a lot of topics, from cleaning and organizing to easy DIYs, to creating a light and bright bedroom, adding personality to your bathroom, and creating a self-care sanctuary.
Product Roundups
Last, but certainly not least, being able to share some of my favorite products (and hopefully help you save a lot) has been a definite highlight. I’ve shopped for just about everything you could need and passed along the best finds, from affordable sofas to products that will make your life better, to the accessory you need based on your zodiac sign. I’ve also been able to debut my newest product lines, including a wallpaper collection for Tempaper and LED neon signs for Yellowpop.
Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!!! We absolutely loved and admired what you did for Todd Maddox out at Plookys in Canyon Lake, Texas!! What a beautiful blessing you all are and we absolutely loved watching the episode as we laughed and cried. We became instant fans and may God continue to bless you immensely. Thank you for your amazing styles, ideas and blessings that you do for so many people and families. Enjoy!!!
Thank you so very much! I love that episode too. xx -B
Mazel Tov! I love your site! It’s my favorite and the first place I go when I’m looking for fresh DIY and decorating ideas. My favorite part about your site is that you offer accessibility! There’s always a choice in the mix that I can afford, and sometimes one that costs zero dollars. Thank you for acknowledging the reality that ALL of us want more beauty, design, and functionality in our lives and giving us choices that are both attainable and aspirational. ❤️ from your queer fan in Fargo, ND, where the wide open spaces are stunning and the food is honestly amazing! I’m always hoping QE will come here for a season. 🤞🏻
Thank you Jess! You are so very welcome. xx -B
