How To Help The People of Ukraine: Organizations That Are Making A Difference

Over the last several weeks, we have all watched as the crisis in Ukraine continues to unfold. Amidst anti-war protests worldwide, millions of people have been displaced from their homes due to fighting, leading to a large-scale refugee crisis. And while we may be thousands of miles away from the conflict, there are many ways for all of us to make a difference and help those in need.  

We’ve compiled 10 organizations working to provide life-saving aid, care, and housing to the people of Ukraine, including the most vulnerable groups: women, children, people of color, and the LGBTQIA+ community. The popular rental service is offering free short term housing to Ukranian refugees. If you’re a host, you can ofer your space along with basic amenities for a fe days or weeks, or make a donation to directly connect those in need with a short term housing.



This non profit supports humanitarian crisies and health worldwide. Donations to CARE’s Ukraine Crisis Fund will offer immediate aid and recovery, food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support, and cash assistance — with a priorty to women and girls, families, and the elderly.


Coalition To Support Black People In Ukraine

A Go Fund me campaign that suppports the relocation, housing and well being of Black students and immigrants in Ukraine, who have faced increased discrimination as they flee the country.



This Ukrainian human rights organization suppports lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people who are especially vulnerable during this time of conflict.



This non profit has been working in Ukraine since 2014, providing medical and metal health assistance. They are hoping to expand access to these services for those living in affected communities in Ukraine, and to provide further assistance to refugees.



An organization solely focused on helping Ukranians with medical and humanitarian aid. Donations will go towards providing first-aid backpacks, medicine, medical instruments, and supporting doctors and medical staff.



Part of the United Nations, UNICEF is focused on life saving aid for the nearly 7.5 million children in Ukraine, giving vital humanitarian supplies to this vulnerable group.



United Help Ukraine is a US based non profit working on the ground in Ukraine. You can also support thier fundraiser for medical aid and humanitarian relief.



Standing in solidarity with the women of Ukraine, this group is commited to upholding womens rights, providing humanitarian aid, and suporting those who have had to flee thier homes



A Ukranian foundation offering assistance to affected children and families from all over the country, providing emergency psychological assistance, and assisting in the evacuation process.
