It’s that time of year – when the weather starts to cool off, you pull your sweaters out of storage, and I crave all the delicious dishes that fall has to offer. And now is the perfect time to try your hand at making some yourself! To give you a head start I asked Zach to put together some of his favorite fall-inspired recipes. Take it away Zach!
Fall always makes me crave hearty, filling dishes. The kind that warms you up (and are often followed by a nap on the couch). These dishes use all of the best flavors of fall from pumpkin to apples and many more. So whip some up and dig in!


BA’s Best Slow Cooker Beef Chili
Fall for me has always meant watching football with a big bowl of chili! This recipe uses a mix of short ribs, brisket, and chuck to give you a meaty, hearty bowl that will warm your stomach and your heart (even if you don’t eat it while watching football).

Creamy Pumpkin Pasta
This pasta sauce may be vegan, but you don’t have to be to love it! The blend of pumpkin and cashews gives it a creamy texture that’s perfect for a fall date night at home! Here’s a tip from me, save any extra sauce you have and put it on top of some hash browns for breakfast!

When Queer Eye filmed in Japan for a month we all ate a LOT of ramen! When it’s chilly outside there’s nothing like a hearty bowl of ramen to warm you up. This classic version will bring that taste of Japan into your own home. Make a big batch because it’s also makes for great leftovers.

Bacon Harvest Chicken Skillet
Chicken, bacon, and a mix of fall veggies. Do I need to say more?! The pecans add the perfect crunch while the white wine and lemon brighten us the whole dish. The best part is it’s all made in one skillet, meaning only one dish to wash!

Zucchini Cornbread
I love cornbread and I love zucchini bread, so of course, I was going to love this combo of the two! Especially when you throw a little cheddar cheese in it. Making it in a cast-iron skillet gives this delicious recipe the perfect crust, great for dunking into the last remnants of that bowl of chili.

The Best Gluten-Free Pumpkin Bread
Leigh (from Craving California) titled her recipe “the best” and I’m not going to disagree! It’s so good you won’t even know it’s gluten-free. Top a warm slice with a little bit of butter and trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Kicha Fit Fit
This East African dish may not be your traditional fall dish, but believe me, it works! It’s a simple recipe using leftover flatbread cooked in fat and spice, then topped with plain yogurt. This recipe (from the book In Bibi’s Kitchen) only takes 15 minutes and tastes amazing!

Apple Cider Donuts
Fall for me meant going to the local cider mill just outside of Kansas City, visiting the pumpkin patch, and then eating my weight in apple cider donuts! This recipe fries the donuts giving you a perfect crust filled with cakey goodness! I’m going to go make some now! Bye!
