ROUGH RIDGE TRAILAshville, NC

This moderate trail takes you through the gorgeous terrain of the Blue Ridge Mountains – and pays off with breathtaking views from the summit of Grandfather Mountain and the Linn Cove Viaduct.

 

 

PINE KNOT TRAILBig Bear, CA

Admire the golden glow of oaks and broadleaf trees as you start this 7-mile trek. The trail offers lots of shade and switchbacks, and at Grandview Point, you’re rewarded with spectacular views of Mount San Gorgonio.

TAYLOR’S FALLS TRAILTaylors Fall, MN

A short drive from the Twin Cities, Taylor’s Falls is a 1.25-mile riverside trail (with stairs to make trekking down the slopes a bit easier). It features lovely views of the St. Croix River surrounded by cliffs and impressive autumn leaves.

 

 

 

Lost Maples TRAIL Vanderpool, TX

Part of the Lost Maples Natural State Area, this trail is a great showcase of Texas Hill Country at its best. The 5.2-mile trail features grasslands and limestone bluffs, along with an array of bigtooth maple and red oak trees in all their autumnal glory.

NACHES PEAK TRAILGoose Prairie, WA

A 3.5-mile loop, this moderate trail is a great option for the whole family. You’ll encounter flaming bright red bushes, lakes, and picturesque mountain views of Mount Rainier.

 

 

 

CATSKILL SCENIC TRAIL Upstate NY

This canopy-covered trail stretches 26 miles from Grand Gorge to Bloomville (following an old railroad corridor that is now a recreational path.) Mostly flat, it’s an easy option for all ages and fitness levels and will offer stunning views of surrounding hills and valleys.

BRANDYWINE GORGE LOOPNorthfield, OH

Located in Cuyahoga Valley National Park just south of Cleveland, here’s a hike that will envelop you in nature (without a huge amount of effort). The 1.4-mile loop takes you into a deep wooded ravine, finishing at the 60-foot-tall Brandywine Falls.

 

 

 

WEST FORK TRAIL Sedona, AZ

Dazzling cliffs, red and gold leaves, and clear reflecting pools are just some of what. you can expect from this hike. An easy trail, it does require you to cross a few streams, but you’ll be awarded with an incredible canyon experience.
