I went to Trader Joe’s last week for chicken breasts and walked out with three jars of night cream.
This is what shopping at TJ’s has become if you pay any attention to the beauty aisle. The chicken got bought, eventually. But the beauty section has quietly become one of the better-kept secrets in affordable skincare, and I am not the first person to say it. Beauty editors run side-by-side dupe tests against Laneige and Supergoop and prestige sea-moss creams every other week. The dupes are real. Some of the products are genuinely better than what I was using before.
Here are the 25 best Trader Joe’s skincare and beauty products I actually keep buying, ranked by category, with the new 2026 launches called out where it matters.
The next time you’re heading to TJ’s for your favorite fresh veggies or frozen foods, treat yourself (and your skin) to one of these products for a little pampering. They’re not only incredibly affordable, but I can also vouch that they really work. I’ve broken down my fave skincare and beauty products into categories and ranked and reviewed them all, including body moisturizers, face moisturizers, hair products, sunscreens, and shower products.
Three new products worth knowing about before your next visit.
First, the Night Cream with Irish Sea Moss Extract. Nine dollars. Came out last year, went viral fast, and has held the hype because it actually works. The ingredient list reads like a prestige cream (sea moss, fermented mushroom complex, ceramides, sodium hyaluronate), and the texture is thick in a way that surprises you, almost stiff at first, then it sinks in. Beauty fans on Reddit kept comparing it to MARA SeaDream and the Wildling Moonbounce, both of which retail north of $70.
Second, they finally made a body version of the Daily Facial Sunscreen. Same formula, scaled up, $13 a tube. Limited edition for summer. If you live anywhere with real sun, get two when you see them.
Third, a mineral version of the same cult facial sunscreen. Also $13. They claim no white cast, which mineral sunscreens almost always lie about, but the early reviews say this one might actually pull it off.
The one I keep on my nightstand. Squalane, baobab oil, shea butter, no scent. If you wear fragrance, you already understand why a fragrance-free body lotion matters. If you don’t,
With a name like “body butter”, you can bet that this lotion is creamy, smooth, and easily spread all over. (And you would be right). Smells like coconut, behaves like a thicker lotion. My mom uses this. So does basically every esthetician I know who shops at TJ’s.
Moroccan Argan Oil is prized for the bevy of benefits can offer your skin: improving elasticity, tone, and texture, protecting from sun damage, and helping with eczema and psoriasis. You can’t go wrong by picking up this essential hand and body cream.
I said this above, but it earns the repeat. Nine dollars. Two-ounce jar. The texture is weird at first (someone on Reddit called it “stiff but dry” and they’re right), but you work it in, and it sits on your skin overnight without feeling heavy. I wake up looking less tired. I am 44, I notice.
To stay moisturized, you need to keep your skin’s moisture locked in. (That’s where Hyaluronic Acid comes in.) This is the hydration layer. Goes under the moisturizer. Nothing fancy, just hyaluronic acid that does its job for $9.
PRO TIP
According to Northwestern Medicine, gel moisturizers can be particularly effective on oily skin. They are most effective when applied to slightly damp skin to seal in moisture and help prevent your skin from drying out.
Around $4. Comes in a tiny twist-top jar that is suspiciously the exact same size and shape as the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, which retails for $24. Beauty editors keep comparing the two. The TJ’s version is not quite as long-lasting (Laneige still wins on overnight staying power) but for the price differential, who cares? I keep one in my carry-on.

15. The Seasonal Lip Mask Flavors
These rotate. Watermelon for summer. Cinnamon Roll for fall. Chocolate Berry as a Valentine’s duo. Five to seven dollars. They are limited edition, and they do not come back on a schedule, so if you see one you like, grab two.
The reliable everything-spray. Aloe, vitamin E, water-resistant. Throw it in the beach bag and
forget about it.
Other Trader Joe’s Products
The Sensitivity + Whitening Peppermint Fluoride Toothpaste is $4 and works for sensitive teeth in a way that the Sensodyne I was buying for $9 never did. The Unscented Deodorantcomes in a paper tube and works for most people who do not need clinical strength. The 100% Pure Jojoba Oil is the cheapest version of jojoba oil I have found anywhere and I use it as a body oil after the shower.

How to Actually Shop the TJ’s Beauty Aisle
Three pieces of advice from someone who has bought everything on this list at least twice.
When you see the cult favorites in stock, buy two. The Daily Facial Sunscreen, the Night Cream, the Vanilla Lip Mask. They go in and out. You will not regret stockpiling.
The seasonal stuff (pumpkin hand cream, watermelon lip mask, cinnamon roll lip mask, holiday duos) does not return on a predictable schedule. If a flavor speaks to you, grab it that visit. I have learned this the hard way.
Trader Joe’s accepts beauty returns. If a product breaks you out or just does not work for your skin, bring it back with the receipt. They will refund you, even on opened products. This makes the whole category essentially risk-free.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Trader Joe’s beauty cruelty-free?
Yes.
Is it Clean Beauty?
Many products are paraben-free, sulfate-free, and fragrance-free, but TJ’s does not use the “clean beauty” label as a marketing position. Read individual labels for what matters to you.
Can I buy this Stuff Online?
Trader Joe’s does not sell direct online. Third-party sellers list TJ’s beauty on Amazon and eBay, usually with a markup. Worth it only if you do not have a TJ’s nearby.
What’s the single Best Buy in the entire Beauty Section?
Daily Facial Sunscreen SPF 40. It has been the answer for three years running. The Night Cream is closing the gap.
What’s the most Overrated Product?
Honestly, the eye cream. It is fine. Not bad. But it does not earn the same fan response as the moisturizers and the sunscreen, and at $9 you might as well use any other moisturizer you trust under your eyes instead.
What’s your favorite thing in the TJ’s beauty section? Drop it in the comments. I update this list every year and the readers always find things I missed.
This is great information. Thanks for doing the research. Do you know when the Lemon Body oil is normally carried. I understand some products are seasonal. Is this the case for any of the ones you listed.
I had no idea their skin care products were so affordable! I’ll be scooping myself up some moisturizer and body butters next time!

Love the gel face sunscreen, I recently had blue light treatment, Trader Joe’s gel sunscreen was the most comforting thing I found to calm the pain!
