How To Actually Clean Stained Plastic Containers

It’s a common scenario in nearly every kitchen. You place your leftovers in a plastic container and heat them up, only to discover there is a serious stain left behindTomato sauce, curry and soups are often the culprits, as the plastic can absorb the oils from these sauces when poured in hot. SUPPLIES NEEDED: Dawn Dish Soap, Paper Towel

 

 

STEP 1: Take your stained plastic container and add a teaspoon-sized amount of Dawn dish soap. Then fill the container halfway with warm water.

STEP 2: Add a paper towel to the container filled with water and dish soap. The paper towel will act as a sponge of sorts, soaking up the stains.

STEP 3: Seal the container and begin to shake it vigorously. The time needed will depend on the size of the container and the amount of stain, but 30 seconds should be sufficient.

STEP 4: Remove the lid, take out the paper towel, and rinse the container. The stains should be fully gone (ours were) and you’ll have a plastic container that is as good as new!
