What happens when bright colors and graphic shapes meet minimalism and clean lines? You get Retro Scandinavian – our newest design project for Tri Pointe Homes! This project was a chance to get playful and bring together two unique styles for one amazing home.
Part of the Glacier Pointe at Tehelah community by Tri Pointe Homes® in Bellvue, Washington, this design is a unique mix of the simplistic style associated with Scandinavian design, and the more graphic and saturated tones associated with Mid-Century Design. So how did we bring these two styles together? Let’s take a look!

Retro Scandinavian At Glacier Pointe
Say hello to 1960s meets Stockholm meets the Pacific Northwest! The 3,306 square foot, 4 bedroom, 3 bath home is truly a mash up of eras and styles, and full of vibrant colors, geometric shapes, and streamlined pieces. To begin this design, we started with the clean lines and materials associated with Scandi style. (Think light wood tones and a more minimal feel.) From there, it was about layering in shades of orange, blue, yellow, and green to play up the retro aspect. Throw in geometric art, textural pillows, and a touch of alpine influence and you have one of our most unique projects to date- and perhaps the newest design style too!
