This Genius Smart Plug Will Make Any Outlet Wireless
We love a smart home – and the fact that any home can be more intelligent and intuitive with some easy updates. Case in point: our latest discovery – a way to enhance any outlet – by simply adding a smart plug! This genius device wirelessly connects by remote control (or app) enabling you to turn on anything without having to plug it in or flip a switch! In fact, we love this smart plug so much, we used them at the new Bobby Berk office – and made lighting things up simple, streamlined – and smarter!
ADDING A SMART PLUG
When installing the new lighting at the Bobby Berk office, we used cord kits that plugged into outlets located on the ceiling (Yes, the ceiling – it’s a converted industrial space!) The only issue was that these outlets were controlled by a light switch that also turned on all the overhead lights. Since we just wanted the lanterns to be turned on (for a bit of office ambiance if you will) we needed a different solution that didn’t involve getting on a step ladder to plug them in. That’s where the smart plug comes in! All we had to do was plug the lights into the smart plug, and we could then wirelessly control up to 3 plugs with the included remote!
The remote (which also magnetically attaches to a wall plate) functions just like a switch, making it so easy to turn on and off. You can also use this smart plug on any outlet in any room of the house. It’s perfect for adding to a bedroom to turn on a bedside lamp, for simplifying your Christmas Tree setup (no more bending over to plug in the tree lights!) or to control a fan or heater without having to get up. It’s truly a game changer – and an easy and affordable way to add a smart upgrade to your space!
