2026 Living By Design Virtual Showhouse | Bobby Berk’s Kitchen Design

Living By Design Virtual Showhouse

Designing a room comes with its own set of unique challenges. But when you’re designing a room that only exists virtually, many challenges actually become opportunities! That’s why I was so excited to go digital – and create a kitchen design for the 2026 Living By Design Virtual Showhouse!

For the 3rd year, my team and I had the opportunity to create a design for the Living By Design Showhouse.  And this year, we were tackling the heart of the home – the kitchen! Without the limitation of a physical space, we had the opportunity to flex our design muscles and approach the architectural and interior design without any boundaries! So let’s take a look at what we created – and the inspiration, layout, and design details behind the kitchen in the 2026 Living By Design Virtual Showhouse!

The Inspiration

Dramatic stone, stunning cabinetry, and mixed metals were the overarching inspiration for the kitchen design. I envisioned a space that enveloped you in shades of green, from limewash walls to a unique green marble range hood. The green shades would be contrasted by light wood cabinetry, a white marble island, and stainless steel details. I also planned to bring in some metal and glass shelving and walnut flooring, as well as some stunning cabinet and door hardware.

The Layout

The kitchen layout centered on a generous island with a range and counterspace on one side and a counter with the sink and dishwasher on the other. The fridge and oven are on the other wall, and opposite that, on the far end, there is a breakfast nook with a table and built-in seating surrounded by a wall of windows.

The Kitchen Design

This stunning virtual kitchen makes an immediate statement with dramatic green-veined marble stretching from the countertops all the way up the range hood: a bold, continuous slab moment that anchors the entire left wall. Warm, light wood cabinetry on the right side of the kitchen softens the drama, its fluted detailing adding quiet texture that feels both modern and timeless. Open metal and glass shelving bridges the two zones, keeping the space feeling airy while offering a place to display curated cookware and objects. On the opposite wall, sleek stainless steel cabinetry introduces an unexpected industrial edge that contrasts beautifully against the organic warmth of the marble and wood. At the center, a floor-to-ceiling white marble island commands attention, while a sculptural multi-globe chandelier has curved arms echoing the arched architecture above and casting a warm, jewel-like glow over the space. The built-in banquette upholstered in olive ultrasuede is tucked in front of the dramatic steel-framed windows, creating an intimate breakfast nook that feels like the coziest seat in the house.

Our design was thoughtfully and efficiently translated into a stunning virtual room by YouSee, and we also worked with a number of amazing brands to bring the room to life, including Miele, Western Window Systems, Fabricut, Feguson Home, Eggersman, Emtek, Regina Andrew, Stark Carpet and Ultrasuede. A special thank you to the architect, Kligerman AD, production team at Embello, and national media partner Luxe Interiors + Design for bringing this project to life!
