Bobby Berk Headquarters: The New Appliances (And The Features Our Team Loves)

When designing the Bobby Berk Headquarters, we didn’t just think about how the space would look. It also had to function for our (growing) team! And one of the most functional features that we had to consider – and would use every day – was the appliances. From the kitchen to the wet bar and the laundry room, we filled our HQ with appliances that look good, and work even better. And today, our team is giving you their reviews, and highlighting the features we love.
While the Bobby Berk Headquarters might not be a working home, we still have lunches to prepare, dishes to wash, and laundry to be done! And now that we’ve been in our headquarters for a few months, our team has all had a chance to try out the new appliances that help us get those tasks completed. And we’ve asked them all to share their opinions – and all the features they love about all the appliances we sourced from Build with Ferguson!

The Fridge & Freezer
The Dacor Column Fridge & Freezer are full of smart features (like wifi to view the contents) and full of all our lunches, leftovers, snacks, and sodas. And since they are both panel ready, we opted to make them seamlessly blend in with the rest of the kitchen cabinetry.

“This fridge and freezer are seriously hi-tech. But the coolest part of the fridge (pun intended) has to be the door that automatically opens when you press on it. If you have your hands full, you can just tap it with your elbow and it opens like magic. I wish I had this fridge at my apartment! “

The Dishwasher
Having a dishwasher definitely comes in handy when we make a big team lunch or host an event. But the Dacor Built-In Top Control Dishwasher is so much more than just your average appliance. It’s spacious (with space for 14 settings), super quiet, and evenly cleans every time. And all that function – plus the controls – are hidden behind the stylish panel front.

“This dishwasher actually makes doing dishes sort of fun. One feature that really stands out to me is instead of having a basket for silverware, this one has a top drawer where you can lay forks, knives, and spoons flat. It actually makes it a lot easier and faster to unload, and I’ve noticed they actually all come out pretty much spotless.”

The Cooktop
The sleek Dacor Built-In Natural Gas Cooktop is an understated addition to the kitchen but still offers a whole lot of cooking surface. Oh, and wondering where the hood is? Rather than add a bulky option in the middle of the kitchen, we installed a Downdraft Vent Hood that pops up with the push of a button!

“I love to cook and typically make my lunch at the office. This cooktop is seriously the nicest I’ve ever used, and the gas burners are so precise, I never burn my rice! The surface is also so easy to clean – I just wipe it down with a sponge and any spilled sauce comes right off. “

The Microwave & Oven
There’s not much the Dacor Combination Electric Oven with Microwave can’t do. With options to bake, broil, steam, or use the convection oven, we can easily and efficiently cook whatever we’re craving!

The Fridge Drawer
Dynamic cooling technology in the Marvel Refrigerator Drawer means that any beverage gets cooled off quickly – and is ready to drink in no time! You can also precisely control the temperature for optimal chilling.

The Washer & Dryer
The Electrolux Front Loading Washer and Dryer make doing laundry practically foolproof – because all the built-in technology does the work for you! The washer automatically modifies water levels to the load size, and can even quickly clean in 15 minutes. And not to be outdone, the dryer can even predict the correct dry time!

“Instead of trekking to a laundromat, sometimes I do laundry while at the office. And this washer and dryer are so efficient (and quiet) no one even knows it’s happening! I’ve also used the steam feature on the dryer to remove wrinkles on a shirt if I’m going out right after work.”
I love this new look!! What I am most intrigued about though are the shelves in the kitchen. My mom is redoing her house and something like that would be perfect for her. I am curious what the material is? Is it a kit someone could purchase? If not, are the pieces easy to gather?
