Cut Paper Towels in Half

Most of the time, you don’t need a full paper towel. So to cut down on use and get a smaller size, you can literally do just that: cut your paper towel roll in half to create 2 smaller rolls. This will double your number of sheets, saving you money in the process.

Tackle Stained Plastic Containers with a Paper Towel

You’ve definitely been there. You place your leftovers in a plastic container and heat them, only to discover there is a serious stain left behind. However, I discovered a hack that promises to clean even the toughest stains from Tupperware. Just fill the container with dish soap, water, and a paper towel, vigorously shake, rinse, and your container is as good as new!

Get Rid Of Those Water Spots With Tinfoil

No matter what dishwasher you have, at some point, you’ve pulled open your freshly cleaned dishes to see water spots on the glasses and the silverware. It’s annoying, and no matter how many cycles you run, they don’t seem to come off. But I recently saw a viral TikTok trend and had to try it out for ourselves. The hack involves tossing a piece of tinfoil into your dishwasher and letting the tinfoil and your regular cycle do the work… and guess what, it did just that. It WORKED!

Fix An Uneven Burning Candle With Foil

We’ve all been burned by this experience. Your favorite scented candle has been filling your space with aroma, but after being lit a few times, the surface of the wax is no longer even and has started to “tunnel”. You may be tempted to grab a knife and scrape the wax off the sides, but there’s a simpler way to make it even again. Just reach for some aluminum foil and wrap the lit candle in a little foil chimney, with a hole at the top. Leave it burning for 2 hours, and the wax will melt down the sides and be burning properly once again.

Clean A Fabric Lampshade with A Lint Roller

Did you realize that nearly every surface in your home is a magnet for dirt and debris? Eww. That includes everything that is upholstered or featuring fabric – including your lampshades. But there’s a simple trick to attracting all the dust that has settled on your lighting. Simply grab the tool you use for removing unwanted particles from your wardrobe – a lint brush – and roll it over the surface of the shade. It will easily remove anything that’s there. Plus, this method will work for other fabrics too, like a sofa, curtains, or pillows.

Prevent A Fogged-Up Mirror With Shaving Cream

Stepping out of the shower to a foggy mirror is one of life’s little annoyances. Even with an exhaust fan, your mirror might not be fully clear, and you end up reaching for a towel to wipe it off. But one common bathroom product can help put this to an end: shaving cream! Apply a thin layer of shaving foam evenly over the surface, and wipe it dry with a clean, soft cloth. (The mirror should then be fully clear.) Then take a shower and enjoy a newly fog-free mirror!

Clean Stained Pots & Pans With Baking Soda & Vinegar

Have some pots and pans that have seen better days? You can clean the stained bottoms with two common ingredients.  Add a layer of baking soda, then spray vinegar into it. Allow the two to mix, then vigorously scrub with a sponge. While this hack won’t work on all pots and pans, it’s most effective on smooth stainless steel.
