How To Make Your Home Look More High-End: Bobby’s New Project

Want your home to feel a little more high-end without blowing your budget? You don’t need pricy products or custom construction — just a few smart design moves. It’s all about incorporating details that feel luxurious. And Bobby’s latest project is full of materials and features that elevate the interior – and demonstrate how to make your home look more high-end!

Part of the Tri Pointe Homes Alterra community in Newcastle, Washington, this 3,360 square foot home certainly has a luxurious feel. However, it’s still relaxed, cozy, and comfy, while embracing earth tones. How did Bobby balance an elevated look with easy living? And how can you do the same in your own space? Let’s take a look.

Extend Your Stone Onto The Backsplash

Simply extending one material can be the key to a luxe look. In this kitchen, Bobby and the design team opted for Fantasy Brown marble for the perimeter counter and backsplash, creating a seamless look that screams luxury. Even if you opt for a less expensive engineered stone like Quartz, taking your counter material up to the splash is going to make your kitchen look more expensive. Plus, a solid stone backsplash is easier to clean than tile!

Bring In Built-Ins

Any design feature that is created just for your space is going to look totally luxe. We’re talking built-in shelving, storage, bookcases, or banquettes. In this project, a pair of built-in shelves with closed storage at the bottom flank a sofa in the study, and make this space stand out by building in.

Even if you can’t go fully custom, you can also fake a built-in by simply adding trim to the top of a freestanding bookcase to make it appear that it was fabricated just for you.

Fit In A Freestanding Tub

There’s just something about a freestanding bathtub that instantly says luxury. It turns your bathroom into more than just a functional space — it becomes more like your own personal spa. If you have the space, consider an elegant, sculptural tub to give the whole room a more high-end feel. And placing the tub in front of a window, as Bobby did in the home, only adds to the appeal.

Add A Textured Wallcovering

Textured wallcoverings bring in depth, dimension, and a tactile quality that paint just can’t match. Whether it’s grasscloth, metallic, or the wood grain finish shown in this bedroom, it adds a layer of richness that makes the room feel more finished and sophisticated. Even bringing in a single accent wall can be the difference between an ordinary interior and a space that wows.
