Bobby Berk Headquarters: The Entry, Stairs & Living Room

Last week, we finally revealed a project that is very personal: the new Bobby Berk Headquarters! We gave you a peek into all the amazing before and afters of the space, but now it’s time to dive even deeper into the design for every single room! So we’re starting right at the front door – with everything you want to know about the entry, stairs, and living room.

A lot of design touches, unique furnishings, and hard work (including from our contractors, Crivello Bros) went into our new space. And it’s time to share it with you (including all the products used). Ready to see more of our HQ? Let’s start things off with the design details of the entry, stairs, and living room!

ENTRY & STAIRS

The entry of any space is especially important, as it sets the design tone and acts as the first impression for anyone who enters. And the entry to our headquarters is certainly no exception. We wanted to make a clear impression of our signature interior style and welcome everyone into the world of Bobby Berk.  That meant sticking to the materials, colors, and elements Bobby and our design team love the most.  Starting underfoot, we chose a chevron pattern of Mohawk wood flooring from Build with Ferguson that served to delineate the entry area from the open floor plan. For paint colors, we went with graphic contrast, opting for Sherwin Williams Snowbelt for walls & Black Magic for doors. We replaced an existing window with a new custom Marvin quatrefoil shape, which better aligns with the Spanish architecture of the building. Black Baldwin hardware from Build with Ferguson also creates a modern feel on the front door, and throughout, while a cool globe pendant light dangles delicately from above.

In the stairway, we brought in a modern black railing that serves as the main architectural interest. To fill the large wall in the stairwell, we hung a graphic and playful photograph, “Mascarade 3” by The Heidies, from Tappan. A globe pendant a fun pedestal, and a marble table from Sherrill Furniture Brands finish out this functional area, giving it an uplifting design personality.

LIVING ROOM

Directly to the right of the front door sits the most inviting and airy space in our HQ: the living room. The gorgeous wood vaulted ceiling may have been original to the house (and was left untouched), but everything else in this room got a major update. Most prominently, we took an underwhelming element, the fireplace, and created a new plaster version that serves as the living room focal point – and brings in a subtle texture. New black frame Ultimate Swinging French Doors from Marvin on each end of the room not only look great but now open things up to the backyard and front patio. Furniture-wise, we chose a trio of stylish and sculptural pieces from Jardan: The Ziggy Armchair, Lola Sofa, and Otis Coffee Table inject a thoroughly modern sensibility into the space. For additional storage (and a place to display some of our favorite design books) were added the Open Plan Long and Low Bookcase from Steelcase behind the sofa. Among the array of very cool lighting, a spherical Rejuvenation lamp adds style and an arching metal floor lamp with pleated shade looks totally graceful. A cool Wyandotte guest chair adds another unique element to the corner. Artwork from Bobby’s collection for Leftbank makes a big impact over the cane cabinet and in the corner, and a pair of prints from artist Leigh Wells for Tappan fills a smaller wall. And since no detail was too small, we even eschewed the basic light switch in favor of a more visually pleasing toggle option from Buster & Punch.

  1. So gorgeous and inspiring! What a wonderful place to let the divine guide your creative spirit, surrounded by beautiful and serene spaces!

  2. The design of the entry stairs and living room is impressive. It creates a welcoming and stylish atmosphere.
