‘Junk or Jackpot?’ Episode 1: Patrick’s Makeover

The wait is over. ‘Junk or Jackpot?’ has officially premiered! In case you’ve forgotten, in this series, I’ll be meeting with homeowners who have massive and unusual collections. I’ll help them sort through their collections, have them appraised, and then they will decide if they are willing to part with items to finance a home renovation from yours truly!

To kick things off, I’m working with a collector with a passion for items that come in a box was putting his relationship on the rocks.

In the series premiere, I’m helping Patrick, a passionate collector whose love of marionettes, Disney figurines, and pinball machines has taken over his apartment – and forced his partner to move out. With my help, Patrick pairs down his collection and makes room for love instead! Now, let’s take a look at the before and afters and see how it all came together – including a shoppable roundup of how to get the look!

BEFORE

As you can see, when I arrived at his home, Patrick’s living room was packed with pinball machines. A LOT of pinball machines.

The dining room also displayed a cacophony of collections, including figurines, marionettes, and dolls.

And the office was more like a storage unit filled with boxes.

AFTER

After clearing out (and parting with) some of his collections, I was able to give Patrick’s living room an elevated and organized new look. I chose a color palette that was bright and playful, much like his collectons. I especially love the custom ‘It’s A Small World’ themed storage cabinet we added to the wall!

I also installed 3 large glass display cabinets in the Living Room to show off a selection of Patrick’s figurines.

I kept one of the prized pinball machines in the corner for a playful moment, and gave him a comfy sectional and storage ottomans that double as extra seating!

The dining area went from storage space to entertainment space with the addtion of a new round dimning table and sparkly chandelier.

Patrick’s office used to be packed with boxes. Now, it has a gorgeous wall to wall built in filled with his favorite figurines. I alsp placed his desk in the center of the room
