‘Junk or Jackpot?’ Episode 5: John & Victoria’s Makeover

Junk or Jackpot?

On ‘Junk or Jackpot?”, I’m helping collectors make a big change in their homes (with a lil’ time, effort, and TV magic). So let’s see how I helped this week’s collector pare down their collection and curated new spaces in their home.

In episode 5, ” The Vinyl Countdown”, I’m helping John and Victoria. This couple shares a love of collecting records, and it’s a passion that helped bring them together. But that same passion is now overwhelming them and their home (with over 5,000 records spilling into every space). They also want to get this collection in order and make space for friends, so they can start entertaining again. So let’s see how I tackled this record-breaking makeover!

Pssss. Don’t miss my full recaps of Episode 1 with Patrick, Episode 2 with Johnny & Carlie, Episode 3 with Tonya, and Episode 4 with Vivian!

‘JUNK OR JACKPOT?’: John & Victoria

BEFORE

The couple’s screening room had – you guessed it- lots of records. While there was a small sectional and tv for movie nights, I knew it could be a lot more functional and fashionable.

The living room had records on shelves, the sofa, the floor – spilling onto just about every surface.

‘JUNK OR JACKPOT?’: John & Victoria

AFTER

The new screening room got new seating for movie nights, courtesy of a large L-shaped sectional, plus new storage for all their soundtrack records. But the best part has to be the new snack station that Victoria really wanted – complete with beverage storage and a popcorn maker!

In the living room, I brightened things up and gave them a new seating area. I also added custom record storage to house their impressive collection, complete with battery-operated lighting at the top to showcase album art.

Plus, there’s a new listening station with a record player and stereo!

Stay tuned next week for episode 6 of ‘Junk or Jackpot?’
