Bobby Berk’s New HGTV Show: ‘Junk or Jackpot?’ – Everything You Need to Know

The Emmy Award-Winning Designer Returns to TV With a Show About Collectors, Hidden Treasures, and Life-Changing Home Renovations

I’m so excited to officially share the news: I’m back on TV with my brand new HGTV series, Junk or Jackpot? If you’ve been asking when I’d return to your screens, the wait is over.

Junk or Jackpot? premiered on HGTV on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 9:30 PM ET/8:30 CT, and all six episodes of Season 1 are now streaming on HBO Max, Discovery+, and Apple TV+ internationally. The Season 1 finale landed at #2 on the Discovery+ Top 10, and I’m still pinching myself over the response from all of you.

What Is ‘Junk or Jackpot?’ About?

In each episode, I meet homeowners who have massive, unusual collections that have completely taken over their homes. We’re talking rooms full of figurines, walls covered in memorabilia, marionettes, pinball machines, comic books, vintage toys, you name it.

Here’s how the show works: I tour their homes, hear the emotional stories behind their collections, and then bring in expert appraisers to determine what their items are actually worth. From there, the homeowners face the big question: are they willing to part with some of their prized possessions to fund a renovation that transforms their home?

It’s part design show, part treasure hunt, part emotional journey, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we created.

Who Produces the Show?

Here’s a fun fact that surprises a lot of people: Junk or Jackpot? is executive-produced by John Cena. Yes, that John Cena. The idea actually came to him over dinner one night when friends started talking about their wildest collections. He developed the concept, brought it to HGTV, and then asked me to host. It’s been an incredible partnership.

Why This Show Means So Much to Me

After nine seasons on Queer Eye, I knew my next project needed to have real heart. I’ve always been a big proponent of clearing out clutter and living more intentionally, but this show goes deeper than organizing a closet.

Many of the collectors I worked with had reached a point where their collections were affecting their mental health and their relationships with the people they love most. Their passion for collecting had quietly built walls, literally and figuratively, between them and their families.

This show is about helping people reclaim their peace and sense of self. It was so fulfilling to help these homeowners unlock their full potential through this process. So many of them were overwhelmed, not just by the amount of stuff in their homes, but by the emotions and memories attached to it all. Helping them find clarity and create spaces that reflect who they are was incredibly rewarding.

I never wanted to come at our collectors with any sense of shame. It was always about acknowledging how much they love their collections while helping them understand that their passion had created barriers between them and the things that truly matter.

What to Expect in Season 1

The six-episode first season features some unforgettable collectors and transformations:

Episode 1 kicks things off with Patrick, whose two-bedroom condo had been completely overtaken by marionettes, puppets, Disney figurines and pinball machines. The appraisal results on this one were genuinely shocking.

Every episode follows a similar format: we tour the collection, get to know the story behind it, bring in experts for appraisals, and then the homeowner decides what they’re willing to sell to fund the renovation. The reveals at the end are always emotional, and some of these collections turned out to be worth far more than anyone expected.

The show hit #2 on the discovery+ Top 10 shortly after launch. I’m so grateful to everyone who has watched and supported the show.

Will There Be a Season 2 of Junk or Jackpot?

I can’t say too much just yet, but the response to Season 1 has been amazing, and the show has been picked up across the globe. Stay tuned for updates, and be sure to follow me  @bobby for behind-the-scenes content and announcements.

How to Apply for Junk or Jackpot?

If you or someone you know has a collection that’s taken over your home and you’re ready for a fresh start, keep an eye on HGTV’s casting page for future opportunities. I’d love to help more collectors find the balance between honoring what they love and creating a home that works for their whole family.

  1. Bobby is the best, adore him. Way to go HGTV!!! Way to go Bobby!

    1. Hi, our home is in Florida. Does Mr. Berk ever do homes here? Thank you.

  2. Thing is…how do you know when something is valuable these days. Stuff people used to value are now worthless apparently. And it’s heartbreaking to hear that something you cherished and your parents cherished is now unsellable. I have stuff my parents saved, my inlaws saved, my late husband saved…..and no one wants it. What is beauty if no one recognizes it? When someone spends $10 million on a ratty old Berkin bag but won’t give me a dime for a work of art, what is a prize possession worth?

  3. Hello Bobby and Staff! I’m so looking forward to seeing the fun you all will be creating with the interior of homes!! LOVE the concept of the show and selling things to “fund” the update! Maybe you can do my home in San Clemente California as a break from the desert of Palm Springs ( newest Casa Morocco) to our beautiful beach town. I wish you all the best with your new show!! Bebe

  4. Dear Bobby
I’ve been following you since I discovered Queer Eye by Netflix in Croatia. You’re all amazing to me. I really love your design, you work wonders in the show with Ikea which is actually affordable, but I also really like everything I’ve seen on Instagram and by googling you. and I can’t wait for your show to appear on our platforms. I also love you all, but Tan France is the most famous to me, because I’ve watched him, besides Queer Eye, Next in Fashion and the wedding dress selection show. I wish you lots of creativity, success, health, love and happiness. I hug you and wave from the sea from my beautiful hometown of Split in faraway Croatia.

  5. whenever i miss you, thinking of how incredulous i was watching HOW MUCH OF YOUR MENTAL AND PHYSICAL AND ARTISTIC AND PRACTICAL parts of yourself you gave to the fortunate souls who got your attention on Queer Eye, i pick up your book that you gave SO much to, look at page 26, think about every moment of your life that brought you there to that moment and with your husband, and am so warmed for the day.
i send you all my heartful for your incredible presence here on the planet.

  6. Hi,
