Casa Mallorca: All Your Questions Answered

Casa Mallorca may be well underway, but we’ve still been getting lots of questions about the project. Where is it located, what changes are being made, and when will it be completed? Bobby is here to answer all your inquiries.

Where Is It Located?

Casa Mallorca is located 2 hours from Los Angeles in Palm Desert, CA.

Didn’t You Just Launch A Property In The Desert?

Yes! Casa Tierra was completed back in 2022. But it’s been so popular with guests that  decided to design a 2nd property.

Why Is It Called Casa Mallorca?

When Dewey and I first pulled up to the property, it immediately reminded us of Mallorca (pronounced (may-or-kah), an island off the coast of Spain. The exterior and landscaping at the property look very similar to the rustic stone houses found on Mallorca.

How Many People Can Stay There?

Once the renovation and additions are complete, Casa Mallorca will sleep 22 people, perfect for large families, friends, or wellness retreats.

When Will It Be Completed?

Casa Mallorca is scheduled to be completed in Early 2026.

What Is The Design Style?

Since it’s in the desert, it’s definitely got a desert chic look, but because of the stone and lush landscaping, it also has a bit of a Mediterranean vibe.

Have You Run Into Any Issues?

Oh, yes! The county required that the existing pool be removed because it was not permitted, and a whole new pool had to be created. In addition, it took 2 long years to get permits and just get started on construction!

Are You Designing It All?

For a project of this scale, it takes a village. That’s why I’m partnering with designer Paula Oblen, who also helped create Casa Tierra.

What Improvements Are You Making?

Lots! The property will be almost completely net zero, with all solar power and backup batteries from Genesis Home. All the windows and doors are being replaced with new energy-efficient Marvin windows, and there’s new hardware and plumbing fixtures from Kohler. In addition, there will be a full professional chef’s kitchen with all new cabinets from Masterbrand, furniture from Four Hands, tile from Zia Tile, and electrical panels from Span. My goal is to make as small an environmental impact as possible.

What Makes It A Wellness Retreat?

There will be so many new additions to the property that are wellness-focused and designed for guests to relax and recharge. A new resort-style pool, hot tub, sauna, cold plunge, gym, and yoga area will be perfect for relaxing, and also for hosting yoga retreats and wellness events.
