Are you enjoying the new season of Queer Eye? Every episode is a celebration – and a chance for us to celebrate another inspiring hero. Today, we’re heading into the Bayou to help a husband find his romantic side – and woo his wife of 39 years! Get ready to meet the next hero from Queer Eye Season 8: Ernest!
We meet Ernest Batholomew in Episode 1 – “Mr. Fantastic”. Ernest is a country critter who grew up in the Lousiana Bayou. He’s been married to his wife Miranda for 39 years and raised two kids. But since his children have left home, he and Miranda have been disconnected – with her in the kitchen and garden and Ernest working on his car in his man cave. Ernest also enjoys cooking wild game (like raccoon) – and his wife is not game for that!
The Fab Five show up in Ernest’s garage to give him a real lesson in romance, teach him to make a tasty salmon dish, learn about the 5 love languages, and give him a dashing new look that’s, as Ernest would say, fantastic!
As for the design makeover, Bobby turned Ernest’s home into a cozy love nest – complete with a new closet room for Miranda, a peaceful blue bedroom, and a whole new outdoor setup for romantic dinners!

The work you’ve done this season on Queer Eye is magnificent. I can’t even!!!! You have such talent and finesse. When I look at some of the messes you come up against I cannot imagine how you could improve them, and BOOM! You make everything lovely and comfortable.
