Modern Glam: Bedrooms & Bathrooms (And Everything You Need To Get The Look)

Yesterday we kicked off our Modern Glam project with Pardee Homes by sharing the Entry, Living Room, Kitchen, and Dining Room. And today we’re back to take you on a tour of the Primary Bedroom, Bathroom, and the Guest Bedrooms.

For each of the bedrooms in this home, we took a vastly different approach, while still maintaining continuity in design. In The Main Suite, a textured berry-colored grasscloth wallcovering set the tone, with dark wood furniture and soothing shades of cream and grey adding a calming feel (that extends into the bathroom). In the Blush Guest Bedroom, shades of pink and white playfully mingle with metallic metal accents and graphic pieces. While in the Grey Guest Bedroom, we went a little rock n’ roll with framed album covers, leather accents, and a statement-making velvet bed.

PRIMARY BEDROOM

In the Primary Bedroom, we made a statement with a textured grasscloth wallpaper behind the four-poster bed. It not only draws your eye in, but also breaks up the other white walls and creates a tactile moment on the focal wall. The rest of the room got a more subtle and elegant treatment to balance it all out, with clean white bedding, accent pillows and throws in shades of grey, and a pair of Holcomb Accent Lamps by Rejuvenation for the nightstands. At the foot of the bed, we placed a modern ivory-colored loveseat, caramel leather chair, and Nils Cocktail Table from my furniture line with A.R.T. Furniture, creating an intimate spot for conversation or relaxing.  A graphic ebony dresser opposite the bed balances the dark furniture, and a plush grey rug anchors the space. And for a graphic and modern punch in the room, we chose a collage-style piece of art from my art collection line, and a sculptural black metal drink table.

PRIMARY BATHROOM

The en suite bathroom is completely open to the bedroom area so we wanted to keep it minimal and clean and carry some of the same accents as the bedroom it is connected to. We made this happen with a neutral palette and pops of graphic black and metallic gold. If you like a bit of shine, you’ll love our design for the main bathroom. We incorporated plenty of brass and gold, from the two-tone mirror to the simple hanging pendants. The clean lines of the wall faucet and hardware also help keep things simple and streamlined, and really pop against the black vanity.  And a waffled grey hand towel, glass jars and a pair of sculptural vases add just the right about of texture and movement to keep things interesting.

Blush GUEST BEDROOM

Equal parts sweet, sophisticated and modern, the blush guest room is a space that ‘s got just the right balance. Setting the tone is the paint treatment, which adds some modernity without making this room entirely pink and precious. Rather than painting the walls pink, we painted the ceiling pink and carried that color down a few feet onto all the walls creating a cap of pink in the room. It lifts your eye up and also adds a fun punch of color to the room.

We brought in a few more pink accents through the Lana Upholstered Bed by West Elm and velvet and faux fur pillows in mauve and rose. The white bedding and grey throw create a sumptuous place to slumber, while the White Jarin Double Nightstands by Annie Selke bring in some texture and serve as the perfect contrast to the Metalized Glass USB Table Lamps by West Elm. For a graphic touch, we incorporated a striped wool rug, upholstered lounge chair, and B&W framed photograph. And of course, we couldn’t forget a little bit of bling – with a linear metal and brass light fixture and curvy side table.

Grey GUEST BEDROOM

The last guest bedroom definitely hits all the right notes – taking its design cue from the music world. And along with a fun playful grey paint treatment (drawing the eye up), and a totally cool velvet bed (with built-in nightstands), it also feels fresh and fun. A collection of guitars and colorful framed records certainly set the tone for the space – while serving as functional art – and a leather bench with patterned pillows provides a sunny spot to do some strumming. The Brekke 3 Drawer Dresser (also from Bobby’s line with A.R.T. Furniture) adds some warm wood tones, and the linear rug brings in a bit of large scale pattern. Grey jersey sheets, a chunky black throw, and a textured duvet finish off the bed. And the sleek black pendants over each nightstand definitely rock.

  1. Thank you for saying Main Bedroom instead of master bedroom. These are the language changes we need to making to make the world anti racist! Keep up the good work!

  2. Well they didn’t disappoint, beautiful. My favourite piece is the three drawer chest in the grey guest bedroom. It’s lovely, wish these lines were available in Australia ? I have enjoyed seeing all the spaces in this home so much, and there’s still one to go ? Also it’s interesting that I would not normally be attracted to this style at all, but I just love this home. Thanks as always and love to you and yours xx

      1. That is good news, I can follow that up, thanks x

  3. My favourite is the main bedroom, you just want to relax in that space and get into that beautiful bed and sleep and dream sweet dreams ☺️

  4. How does the rest of the bathroom look? Because it’s open, just keen to know how the rest of it looks such as the shower area etc?

    Beautifully done, love your work!

    1. You can see a photo of the rest of the bathroom here. Thanks so much! xx -B
