We are back with another transformation from Queer Eye. Today it is all about one of our makeovers from Season 4 – Wesley.
We met Wesley during episode 2 of season 4, and if you haven’t already tuned into the newest season (or this episode) then there are some spoilers ahead. Wesley Hamilton, a single father who was paralyzed from the waist down six years ago after being shot in the spine, allowed us to come in and transform his space, but more than anything he left us feeling inspired and humbled.
After his accident, Wesley decided to change his mindset and bring about change not only to his own life but to others. He dove into fitness and nutrition and founded Disabled But Not Really, a nonprofit organization that helps people with disabilities work towards their wellness goals. For someone that devotes their life to others – teaching them forgiveness, wellbeing, and positivity – it was time to give back to Wesley.
We came in and made over the living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. It was one of our most transformative makeovers to date. We took down walls, totally remodeled his kitchen and made every part of his space more accessible for how he uses it. His new space not only gives him a place to call home but is fully functional for his needs.
