The New Bobby Berk Office: All The Details (And Products) From The Main Bathroom

Bobby Berk New Office Main Bathroom Header scaled

Ready to see another room in Bobby’s new office? You know we won’t leave you hanging! You’ve already seen the details on the downstairs bathroom, kitchen, and upstairs bathroom, and today, we’ve saved the biggest (and arguably the best) bathroom for last. It’s time to see all the unique touches we have planned for the main bathroom.

From a soaking tub to a vintage terracotta tile floor, this room is getting lots of special attention. And since it is the largest of the bathrooms, we really wanted to make good use of the space and create a gorgeous and glam design. And of course, we’re showing you where the room started, what inspired us, and how we’re going to give it the Bobby Berk touch!

Keep scrolling to see how we plan to give the main bathroom a glam new look (along with 3D renderings of the space and all the shoppable products we’re using!) And be sure to check back next week for even more exciting updates!

The Before

There wasn’t a whole lot to love about this bathroom when we first laid eyes on it. But when we looked past the unappealing fluorescent lighting and 80s tub, there WAS a lot of potential. We planned to take the space down to the studs and reimagine it as the main bathroom of our dreams.

The Floor Plan

The best part of the main bathroom? It offered plenty of space to work with (and we plan to take full advantage!) The floor plan just needed a few adjustments to maximize the space and modernize the feel. We started by relocating the door to the bathroom (and switching it to a pocket door). We flipped the location of the toilet (creating a separate toilet room) and also removed a pocket door that separated the tub and shower area. This would allow us to expand the length of the vanity and open up the space. And finally, we would flip the tub and change it to an elegant freestanding version, while also removing the shower enclosure and enlarging the shower area itself.

The Inspiration

Our overall inspiration for the space was all about a mix of sleek and modern with glam touches. We wanted to create a bathroom that was equal parts soothing and stimulating, with dramatic vanity that would be the main focal point. A unique backsplash with rounded corners and a vanity with a light wood channeled pattern would really catch the eye, while still feeling streamlined. A minimal palette, textured tile, and hits of brass would round things out for an appealing main bathroom.

The Materials

As the centerpiece bathroom in the office, we wanted to really go for it when it came to the materials. And that meant selecting an array of options that would feel totally luxe, but still suited for everyday use.

TILE & STONE
When you’ve got a 10-foot vanity, you need a counter material that will really go the distance. And a Calcatta gold marble from Daltile certainly does! With flecks of gold and varied grey veining, it’s the perfect complement to the sleek vanity – and looks great on our rounded backsplash. The walls in the tub and shower area will be clad in the same White zellige tile from Clé we’re using in the kitchen and downstairs bath. (What can we say, we really love that tile!) And for the flooring, we chose a rich grey/back flemish terracotta tile also from Clé. The unique circle and diamond design add in some subtle patterns and are a reproduction of vintage Belgian tiles.

VANITY
To complement the gorgeous marble counter and backsplash, we chose a pair of  Bristol Inset Medicine Cabinets from Restoration Hardware. We love the simplicity and subtle brass frame – as well as the function of having a medicine cabinet for extra storage. A trio of Ube tubular sconces from Triple Seven Home will flank the mirrors. We went with a black finish for the sconces (yes, you can totally mix metals) that would also tie in the dark finish of the tile flooring. For some subtle bling on the vanity cabinets, we opted for the brass Edge drawer pulls from Rejuvenation.

HARDWARE
No glam space is complete without a little bit of sparkle. And for this bathroom, that would come courtesy of lots of brass hardware. Once we laid eyes on the One collection by Kallista, we knew it was the perfect pairing for this space, mixing clean lines with an elevated look. So we went all in, choosing the faucet, tub filler, towel ring, tp holder, shower valve, and hand shower all from this line. We then brought in the Air Induction Rain Shower Head for a truly indulgent way to rinse off. But our absolute favorite? That would be the totally elegant Memoirs Freestanding Tub from Kohler that will really take this bathroom to the next level.

The Rendering

Hello gorgeous! Can you believe this is what this room will soon look like? Talk about a transformation. We can’t wait to see this modern and glam bathroom come to life – and be a real design showcase of our new office space.

And in case you missed them, check out all the details of how this project came to be, our vision for the office, construction updates, and all the details of the downstairs bathroom, kitchen, and upstairs bathroom

  1. I love the clean and simple look but high end finishes. I like the extra “lines” that add a bit of texture to things and make them look kind of “next level” in quality: the toilet, tub, cabinet doors. I wonder what Flemish terracotta tiles feel like wet and if they are slippery or if they are good for traction – will they be the floor of the shower? Your rendering tool is really realistic; it’s really neat to see how the project will look before it’s done!

    1. Yes, we will be using the terracotta tiles in the shower. They have a matte finish so they work really well for bathrooms and showers, and don’t get slippery at all when wet. xx- B
