Queer Eye Season 5: Tyreek – The Makeover And Reveal
It’s time for another makeover (and inspiring story) from Queer Eye Season 5! This week, I’m sharing a hero who gives back to his community – and all the details on how we transformed his space.

We meet Tyreek Wanamaker in Episode 4, ‘A North Philadelphia Story’. (Spoilers ahead, per usual.) Tyreek is a 27-year-old who works for Mighty Writers, a non-profit in Philly teaching writing skills to youth in the community.
Tyreek has overcome a lot in his life, but he’s still holding on to uncertainty from his past. After having a falling out with his childhood guardian Ruth, he isn’t sure if she still loves him and would want to meet after many years of separation. But with the help of the Fab Five, they are able to re-connect and quickly realize that their bond has never been broken.
With the uncertainty of his past no longer an issue, Tyreek is able to focus on his bright future ahead – and taking the time to make himself a priority.
To help Tyreek create a fresh start, I re-designed his living room, kitchen and bedroom, giving his space a more grown-up feel (but still keeping it youthful and totally laid back).

I love QE so much! I’ve been obsessed since Season 1. I’m also obsessed with an ornament that was in Tyreek’s apartment and cannot find it anywhere (although am loving this straight to shop feature on your website!). He had two versions one clear, one navy blue, both a bit goldy glittery and looked like glass. Both were like a swirly glass ornament? Can you tell me where you got them? Thanks so much, Jackie x x x

Where did the cinema sconce go in the photo with the group in it? I wanted to see the scale with people in it. I can’t even see the fixture on the wall.. Was it installed after the show?
The photo with Tyreek was taken on the opposite wall from where the sconce was hung, so that;s why. you don’t see it in that photo. It measures 44.5″H x 56.5″W with a 65.5″ projection, so it’s quite large. Thanks for reading. xx -B

I love these “shop the looks”, Bobby! If you could see me taking pictures of my TV during the reveal segments of the episodes, you would laugh out loud! Now I don’t have to. I was brought to tears watching the Tyreek episodes. He is such a sweetheart and it made me so sad that he had such a sad life after Ruth made him go back to his Mother. No child should feel unwanted and unloved. My heart goes out to him. And if I lived in Philly I would be his friend.
